Kentucky’s Be Concerned: The People’s Pantry has teamed up with the City of Covington to offer sanitizing supplies to residents in need with a new program called “Co³” or “Co-cubed,” offering their “COVID boxes” to non-client Covingtonians this Saturday, Nov. 7.

The program’s name stands for “combatting COVID in Covington,” which works to ensure low-income families have the resources they need to stay safe during the rise of the coronavirus.

The organization received $60,600 in federal CARES Act funds to assist in their mission to produce and distribute 2,000 boxes, which contain items like disinfecting wipes and sprays, hand sanitizer, hand soap, masks and paper products to families who can’t afford or aren’t able to access them.

A majority of the boxes are in the process of being distributed to Be Concerned clients, and 20% of the boxes have been saved to give to other Covington residents in need over a series of three pick-up days — including their first one this weekend.

From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (or until they run out) on Nov. 7,  residents can visit the agency’s parking lot at 1100 Pike St. (with photo ID and mail from past 30 days showing their address) and pick up their box. The boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and only one will be available per family.
