Size Matters at Ensemble Theatre

Ray McAnally is an actor. He’s also a big guy. Put those two facts together and you end up with a lot of stereotyping — overweight cop, portly professor, fat repair guy. Sure, it means roles in plays, films and TV, but it can also affect your self-esteem. So how to deal with it? He portrays himself and a host of others — a few bullies and thoughtless directors; his impressionable, overweight 10-year-old nephew; his dad; even his wife.

Through May 25. $39-$43. Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, 1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine, 513-421-3555, ensemblecincinnati.org.
