A special stand-up show at Urban Artifact this May will help benefit shelter pets and be featured in a PBS docuseries.
The Northside brewery will host a full lineup of comedians on Saturday, May 17 for The Dog’gone Funny Comedy Show to raise funds and awareness around Cincinnati Animal CARE’s lifesaving work. Cincinnati Animal CARE is Hamilton County’s only open-intake shelter.
Comedians set to perform include Steve Caminiti, Jeff Jena, Alex Reymundo, Tom Mabe, Kelly Collette, Michael Flannery, Mark Chalifoux, Gabe Kea, Clay Foley, Wayne Memmott, Erica Russell, Chris Weir, Chris Siemer and Kim Sherwood. There will also be adoptable dogs available on-site.
“This is such a special opportunity to celebrate our mission in a whole new way,” Carolyn Evans, executive director of Cincinnati Animal CARE, said in a press release. “It’s a night to come together, laugh together, and maybe even leave with your new best friend.”
That day, crews from the Emmy Award-winning PBS docuseries Shelter Me will also be filming at Cincinnati Animal CARE, around town and at the show for an upcoming episode, which will be broadcast and streamed nationally later this year.
“I have told stories about shelter pets throughout the country,” said Steven Latham, producer and creator of Shelter Me. “I am so excited to be filming this story and reminding people about the amazing animals that are available at their local shelter.”
General admission is $24.95 and front-row featured seats are $39.95; 100% of ticket sales will go toward Animal CARE. Tickets can be purchased here.
