West Chester’s The Pickle Lodge, one of the biggest indoor pickleball facilities in the country, has announced it will be opening a new location on the East Side of Cincinnati.
The pickleball facility says it has acquired the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club (EHI) in Linwood. The club will begin the transition to become The Pickle Lodge at Lunken Landing following the end of its indoor season this May.
“Our family has always been passionate about tennis, but we are excited to see the longstanding tradition of racquet and paddle sports continue at Eastern Hills,” Brian Clark, EHI owner, said in a press release. “We’re confident The Pickle Lodge team will care for the building, and the community, just like we did.”
The Pickle Lodge says its new facility will feature 16 indoor courts, including a championship court surrounded on three sides by spectator seating; cushioned courts; state-of-the-art LED lighting; a full bar; private event spaces; and expanded parking.
“Like we did in West Chester, we will create a must-play pickleball destination for players in the heart of the city,” said Mitch Dunn, co-founder of The Pickle Lodge. “As pickleball fanatics, we will transition Eastern Hills into the place we all want to play.”
The Pickle Lodge partnered with Peter Klekamp, the founder of ACES Pickleball Bar + Grill at Factory 52, on the acquisition of the tennis club. The Pickle Lodge says this partnership pairs their programming and instruction with Klekamp’s commercial real estate expertise.
“I share a common passion with the Pickle Lodge team, which is to provide the best possible playing experience,” Klekamp said. “Everything we do at Lunken Landing will be focused on what players want out of a great pickleball facility.”
The Pickle Lodge hasn’t yet shared a timeline for opening its second facility.
