Lachey’s announced on social media that it will be closing its doors for good this Sunday, so if you wanted one last bowl of loaded tots*, the time is now.
Here’s the blurb from the bar’s Facebook page:
We’ll update you if there’s anything particularly news-worthy about the closing (and/or the closing party).
*We are literally fans of their tot bowls. See our Best Of Cincinnati staff pick from 2015 — “BEST REASON TO RESURRECT YOUR TOT POCKET Things seem to come back in style more quickly these days, like how New Kids on the Block is currently on a North American tour with TLC and Nelly. So it makes sense that you’d need to dust off your Napoleon Dynamite impression because tater tots are back — not that they ever necessarily left. The fried potato cylinders are showing up on menus across the city, from the fancier Poutine Supreme at The Rookwood (truffle tots with pork-cheek gravy, pecorino and shishitos) to the Tot Bowl at Lachey’s (pick one of three flavors of tots — jerked spice, garlic parm or bacon and cheese — served with malt vinegar aioli, cheese sauce and homemade ketchup) to the drunk-food staple at Adriatico’s, where you can stuff your face with a basket of tots covered in cheese, bacon or pizza toppings. You gonna eat your tots? therookwood.com; lacheys.com; adriaticosuc.com.” Also, RIP The Rookwood.
