A Cincinnati summertime staple, Amelia's Starlight Drive-In, announced their tentative plans to reopen their seasonal drive-in movie theater during the first week of May.

Starlight Drive-In has been an important piece of the community for over a half a century, and with the coronavirus pandemic sweeping across the nation, many were (and still are) unsure of the impact it will have on their businesses as well as many summer traditions.

Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton explained in Gov. DeWine's daily COVID-19 press briefing on Thursday that the state plans to begin opening up in phases starting May 1

"The path ahead — you're hearing a lot and I know it's hard because there's not one exact path — but what our team has been putting together is a series of phases that we'll walk through together as we slowly and responsibly open up and try to bring about more of our life as we know it," Acton said. "And those details, again, the governor and his team and the lieutenant governor will be laying out in the days to come."

Another iconic summertime attraction, Green Acres Canoe Rental, announced on April 16 in a Facebook post that they are planning to open their business on May 1, river conditions permitting.
