Cincinnati Zoo Offers Ultimate Hippo Giveaway in Honor of Fiona's Seventh Birthday

The Cincinnati Zoo’s beloved hippo Fiona is turning 7 years old on Jan. 24, and to celebrate, they’re offering a chance to win a meet-and-greet with Fiona and the rest of the hippo bloat.

“She is indeed a lucky hippo, having survived a premature birth against the odds,” Cincinnati Zoo director Thane Maynard said in a press release. “And she remains a hometown hero and symbol of hope seven years later. People still come from all over the world to see Fiona and her little brother, Fritz.”

For $7, participants can enter the zoo’s Ultimate Hippo Getaway. The grand prize package includes a behind-the-scenes hippo tour for seven people, a $1,000 Visa gift card, a two-night stay at Graduate Cincinnati, a $50 gift card to Fiona’s Cafe and a complete library of Fiona books illustrated by Richard Cowdrey.

In addition to entry into the grand prize, your $7 will also get you a digital Fiona kiss print. For $30, you can get a digital kiss print and seven entries into the giveaway. Funds raised help provide food, toys and fun enrichment activities for the zoo’s animals.

Participants can enter from now through Jan. 31, and the winner will be contacted on Feb. 7. Buy your entry here.

To celebrate Fiona’s birthday, the zoo will be offering $7 admission on Jan. 24. Keep in mind that it needs to be 40 degrees or warmer for the hippos to be out in Hippo Cove.
