How about some spooky, sudsy Halloween fun to benefit local Cincinnati arts organizations?
From Oct. 22-24, Carriage House Neighborhood Car Wash in Columbia Township (by Fifty West Brewing Co.) is hosting a Wash 'n' Glow car wash tunnel filled with black lights, live entertainment and treats at the end.
Each $20 ticket (which includes both the Halloween-themed entertainment and a literal car wash) will benefit ArtsWave. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.
"Car wash tunnels for Halloween are not new, just not as common in Cincinnati. I thought kids during this pandemic needed something fun. Fewer than 27% of kids will actually go trick-or-treating, and that has to be just awful," says Carriage House marketing director Nicole Christopher via email. "I am a mom, and know that my kids LOVED anything having to do with glow, so I mixed it all up together — car wash, arts, glow, Halloween and VOILA! (They are excited to volunteer to help the event.)"
Christopher says the tunnel won't be too scary, so kids can enjoy it. It includes dancers from PONES, black lights in the 120-foot car wash tunnel, glowing soap (from local company JBS), glowing banners by local artist Matt Grote and free cups of vanilla ice cream (plus a coupon for a cone) from co-event-sponsor UDF. You will also get a code for another free car wash.
Christopher says she wanted to help benefit ArtsWave and was introduced to them by Janet Hill of Janet Hill Events. "She knows firsthand how tough this year has been on the arts and events professionals in Cincinnati," she says.
