Mixologist Molly Wellmann and thanatologist Cole Imperi join forces for a thematic evening of spirits and spirits at The Mercantile Library for a special pre-Halloween conversation titled, "Two Spirited Women: An Evening with Cole Imperi and Molly Wellmann - What Plants, People, Death and Drinks Can Teach Us About Being Happy."

"Thanatology is the study of death and dying, mixology is the art of preparing mixed drinks. These two practices have more in common than you think," says The Mercantile's event description.

Imperi is a certified thanatologist who has a passion for educating people on how to enrich their lives through the study and acceptance of death and dying.  Wellmann, the mind and mixologist behind cocktail bar Japp's and Myrtle's Punch House, is equally as passionate about the preparation and history of mixed drinks and will be providing a custom punch for the evening.

Listen as the duo enlightens guests about what death, dying and drinking can teach us about human happiness all filtered through the rituals associated with corpses and cocktails.

6-9 p.m. $10 members; $20 non-members. Registration is required. The Mercantile Library, 414 Walnut St., Downtown, mercantilelibrary.com.
