Cincinnati based e-commerce site Everything But the House (EBTH) is celebrating Earth Day with a special "resell, reuse, recycle" event 4-8 p.m. April 22.

Hosted in partnership with locals New Life Furniture Bank, St. Vincent de Paul, Matthew 25: Ministries and Junk King, shoppers will be able either consign, donate or resell secondhand goods.

Donations of décor, clothing, jewelry, collectibles, art, toys, furniture, tools, appliances, exercise equipment, computers and electronics will be accepted. That which cannot be "consigned for resale" will go to the aforementioned donation partners. Junk King will be on hand to recycle old or outdated electronics.

"Shopping and selling secondhand keeps items out of landfills. Overall municipal solid waste has been on the rise for decades with only 31% of the 292.4 million tons of waste being recycled or composted in 2018, according to the EPA’s national overview," says a release from EBTH. "Additionally, over 9.5 Million tons of non-recyclable furniture and other furnishings accumulated in landfills as of 2018 — a number that has steadily increased since the 1980s. Together we can help reduce waste and make a positive impact for our community this Earth Day."

Hazardous materials (paints and cleaning products), liquids, sleeper sofas, used mattresses and box springs cannot be donated, resold or recycled, so don't bring them.

The Earth Day event will be held at 6000 Creek Road, Blue Ash. For more info, visit facebook.com/ebthofficial.
