Sal Vulcano and Chris Distefano want to make Cincinnati laugh on New Year's Eve.

Need to laugh when we ring in our third pandemic year?

Comedians Sal Vulcano and Chris Distefano will perform a joint show Friday, Dec. 31, at the Taft Theatre. Tickets for the New Year's Eve show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at the box office and through TicketMaster.

Vulcano is best known for his role on Impractical Jokers, a reality comedy show on truTV in which friends dare each other to get through jovial public challenges. Impractical Jokers launched in 2011 and features longtime friends Vulcano, James “Murr” Murray, Brian “Q” Quinn and Joe Gatto. Vulcano frequently is the first of the group to start laughing or back down during the dares.

Vulcano also has been featured on Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening and hosts What Say You?, a podcast with fellow Joker Quinn.

In July, Vulcano and the other Jokers had scheduled a comedy stop for December at Cincinnati's Heritage Bank Center, but that show has been canceled.

Distefano has had a number of stand-up specials on Comedy Central and shows on MTV. With comedian Yannis Pappas, Distefano co-stars in the web series Bay Ridge Boys and co-hosts the history podcast History Hyenas. He and Vulcano share stories on their joint podcast, Hey, Babe!
