Cincinnati Food Truck Smokin' Dews Offers Barbecue and Other Comfort Food Staples

If you’re looking for a delicious dose of comfort food in a hurry, you’ll find it at Smokin’ Dews food truck. Since launching their food truck in May 2021, married couple Ghiovanna and Darbi Dennis have worked tirelessly to perfect a menu that consists largely of comfort food staples like pulled pork sandwiches, homestyle baked beans, macaroni and cheese, loaded nachos and creamy whips. For those feeling a bit more adventurous, Smokin’ Dews also offers several dishes that each feature a compilation of favorites from their menu. The Piggy Pile-Up, for example, features four ounces of their homemade macaroni and cheese, baked beans and two ounces of pulled pork or chicken smothered in your choice of sauce, all piled on top of one another. Hungry patrons can often find Smokin' Dews set up outside of Olde Village Tavern, located at 8123 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, on Fridays and Saturdays after 11 p.m. The most up-to-date list of Smokin' Dews appearances can be found on their Facebook page or the WTF Where's the Food Truck app. Hours vary based upon each location. Smokin' Dews owners Darbi (right) and Ghiovanna Dennis (left). Darbi is the brains behind the menu, while Ghiovanna handles marketing and booking. Ironically, Darbi had never been a fan of barbecue until purchasing the food truck. When the couple realized that their new food truck came equipped with two 55-gallon barrel smokers, they decided to run with the idea of crafting a menu around barbecue.

Just in time for summer, Smokin' Dews will be adding just a few special items to their menu, such as the Mac-n-Cheese Waffle, The Melt and the Footlong. Also available during the summer months will be the food truck's famous Dew-Whips, available in a variety of flavors like pineapple, mango and peach.

"We have found a niche in being able to provide the food truck experience to those who might not feel they meet the proper requirements, or to those who’d like small backyard barbecues," Smokin' Dews owners Darbi and Ghiovanna Dennis say via email. "Intimate small events are always a joy. The future certainly looks promising, and we cannot wait to see what great people this business continues to bring into our lives."
