Sergeant Deon Mack of the Cincinnati Police Department made a historic run for president of CPD's Fraternal Order of Police union in November, 2023. Mack, who would have been the FOP's first Black president in Cincinnati, saw a landslide loss to longtime FOP board member Ken Kober. The loss stands in stark contrast to the department working to increase diversity within its ranks.
