It's official: Summer is on its way (despite what the weather may feel like right now), and the West Side's Cabana on the River is welcoming it with open arms, opening its doors for the season on Friday, May 15.

Cabana's opening falls on the same date that Ohio restaurants and bars are permitted to reopen their outdoor seating, following specific health, safety and social distancing guidelines. (Indoor dining can restart in the state with the same specifications on May 21.)

The iconic riverfront restaurant announced in a Facebook post on May 9 that they will be hosting a "limited opening" beginning May 15, outlining some of the initial changes that will take place during the first reopening phase.

"We appreciate your support and patience during this time as many things will have to change," the post reads. "Also we have been getting quite a few inquiries about volleyball and bands, unfortunately neither of those are included in the governor’s first phase of reopening."

According to a comment on the post, they will not be taking reservations. However, they will be taking names down and texting guests as their tables are ready.
