Diner: Look Who's Eating - Andy Hajjar

Owner of Andy's Mediterranean Grille

Andy Hajjar, along with his quieter brother Majed, are the proprietors of Andy's Mediterranean Grille, a Walnut Hills hotspot featuring delicious, authentic Lebanese Middle Eastern cuisine, belly dancers, hookahs and, well, Andy. Dishes like Shish Tawook, a Best Entreé award winner at Taste of Cincinnati, and seven varieties of baklava, keep our non-dancing bellies happy.

CityBeat: Where was your most memorable recent meal?

Andy Hijjar: Pho Paris — I had Vietnamese soup. I'm good with Lebanese and American food, but when I want something I can't prepare, I go to Jean-Robert's places. Sometimes Orchids in the fancy hotel, and sometimes the Sturkeys in the suburbs, but usually Jean-Robert.

CB: What's last thing you think about before you fall asleep at night: food or belly dancing?

AH: Belly dancing! Food is good, belly dancing is better.

Smoking the hookah and watching belly dancing — better still.
