Fifty West Brewing Company has been named the 49th fastest-growing craft brewery in the country, according to a recently released list by the Brewers Association.
While the nonprofit Brewers Association represents over 4,800 small and independent breweries nationwide, Fifty West is the only beer producer from Ohio in their 2018 list of the 50 fastest growing craft breweries in America, which features breweries from 27 states.
Bobby Slattery, managing partner of Fifty West, stated in a press release, “We are absolutely thrilled to be included on this compelling list of our peers by the Brewers Association. I couldn’t be prouder of our entire team.”
In total, these 50 breweries accounted for approximately 10 percent of total craft growth by volume in 2018 and Fifty West more than doubled their production from 2017 to 2018, increasing their total yield from 2,500 barrels of beer to 6,500 barrels in that timespan. They plan to increase production to 9,000 barrels in 2019.
Fifty West brews their beer in small batches, allowing them to offer a variety of beer styles on tap such as their Irish Cream Coffee milk stout, Punch You in the EyePA, Yard Sale saison, and Going Plaid scottish ale, to name a few.
After opening their doors in November 2012, Fifty West has swiftly gained notoriety in a city saturated with craft breweries not only because of their impressive selection of homemade beer, but also with lively events like the Fifty West Punch Out and Fifty Fest.
