A new bar is opening just steps from Ziegler Park in Over-the-Rhine.
Ziggy’s, described as “not your average dive bar,” has moved into the space formerly occupied by Yoli’s Poolside Bar at 213 Woodward St. in 3CDC’s Willkommen project, adjacent to the park and pool. The bar will hold its grand opening opening at noon Saturday, May 25.
The menu will feature an array of summer and poolside-coded alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages like frozen cocktails, canned wines, draft beers and Coke products. The space is bright and playful, decorated with lush hanging plants and other greenery. There’s indoor table seating, plus more seating at the horseshoe-shaped bar. Ziggy’s also has two dog-friendly patio areas, one with seating and another with shuffleboard.
3CDC will manage Ziggy’s in-house and oversee its day-to-day operations.
“Situated alongside the expanded pedestrian-only park space within Ziegler Park and directly across from the pool, this is such a unique space,” Emily Stowe, senior event marketing manager for 3CDC, said in a press release. “We recognized the opportunity to do something here similar to what we’ve been doing for years at Washington Park and Fountain Square. We’re excited to see the space come to life, further activating the park and creating new, enjoyable experiences for visitors.”
Ziggy's is starting as a beverage-only concept, but patrons are welcome to bring in outside food, and 3CDC says it plans to host pop-up vendors outside the bar.
The bar will be open Wednesday-Friday from 3-9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. While customers are encouraged to visit Ziegler Park and its pool, please note you will not be allowed to carry drinks from Ziggy’s to those amenities.
