In 2016, the seeds were planted for a new collaborative collective featuring artists and musicians from all over the world. Dubbed 37d03d (which spells “People,” if you flip it upside down), the project introduced an online platform last year to freely share audio from the numerous participants — including members of The National, Bon Iver and many other solo and group acts — as well as their varied collaborations.

The artistic spirit of 37d03d has also manifested itself at live events, including a recent two-day event in Berlin that included Bryce and Aaron Dessner, Justin Vernon, Nils Frahm, Sam Amidon, Damien Rice, My Brightest Diamond and more.

Local fans of those artists will get to experience a similar event on May 13 at Northside’s Hoffner Lodge, as three 37d03d affiliates team up for an 8 p.m. showcase that includes members of Cincinnati’s own arts collaborative, Intermedio, a music-based collective that experiments with and expands on the concept of concert performance, as they did with the recent On Touching piece that was part of the Contemporary Arts Center’s This Time Tomorrow fest. Also participating in the May 13 event is brilliant Cincinnati percussionist Ben Sloan, a member of the local band A Delicate Motor who has worked with artists like The National and Why?. Sloan is readying the release of his first EP under his own name, m u t e d c o l o r s, which is due this fall.

Rounding out the interesting May 13 event is Buke and Gase, a fantastic Art Pop duo from Brooklyn that has garnered widespread acclaim and worked with the likes of Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson, Animal Collective and — again! — The National. Aron Sanchez’s and Arone Dyer’s band moniker comes from the two self-made stringed instruments that are at the core of their music, a highly melodic, electronics-painted sound that brings to mind the progressive artistry of Björk or Tune-Yards. The duo’s thoroughly compelling Scholars — Buke and Gase’s first new album in six years — was released earlier this year.

Sloan and Dyer performed with Intermedio’s Eric Blyth at a 37d03d event in Berlin last year, so the forthcoming show is a bit of a reunion and offers a chance to catch a rare performance sure to be loaded with more of that trademark collaborative spirit.

Admission to Monday's show is a $10 suggested donation (though no one will be turned away). Click here for more info.
