Local noise-rock band Fruit LoOops released You’re Somebody's World in early November. The 10-track album is exemplary of the band’s gritty noise, playful pacing, intense rhythm and experimental depth. A music video for the album's sixth track, “Traffic,” premieres Dec. 7 exclusively with CityBeat and is available for streaming on YouTube.

“Traffic” is a chaotic tune that sonically frames lead singer Jackie Switzer’s impressive, undulating vocals. The song is arguably the climax of the record, preceded by the thumping, hypnotizing “Tenerife” and followed by “70,” with its deceivingly soothing intro that slams into descending thrashes and pounding disorder.

The music video for “Traffic” was created and shot by artist Abby Palen and edited by Fruit LoOops. The video is a  puppet show with intricate, silhouetted and hand-made (by Palen) designs that see the shadow puppet protagonist meet the “God of Traffic” in a “wild fucking ride.”
