This Saturday (Oct. 5), Eden Park's Seasongood Pavilion will play host to the second-annual Serenity Jam, a benefit concert for the local Community Program for Recovery, which helps people recovering from addiction and substance abuse problems. According to the Serenity Jam website, the organization aids "residents in transitional houses with the costs of needed items or services not provided by the house, such as emergency dental or medical care, transportation to job interviews, and items necessary for their journey to a healthy, useful life."

Saturday's event — which runs noon-7:30 p.m. — is free. Funds will be raised for the nonprofit through raffles and donations. According to a press release, CPR is using Serenity Jam to sponsor residents from two recovery houses this year — the H.O.G.G. House for men in Northern Kentucky and the S.T.A.R.S. House for women in Cincinnati.

The family-friendly (and dog-friendly) event will feature arts and crafts booths, as well as a full slate of live music from local artists. Slated to perform are Robin Lacy & DeZydeco, Butch Jones & the Standard Country Time Band with David Short, Dell Zell, G. Miles and the Band of Helping Hands and Erin Coburn, as well as students from the School of Rock in Mason, Ohio.
