Cincinnati comedian Brad Thacker is presenting his fourth “Dump Trump” show this weekend. Featuring a slew of Greater Cincinnati musical acts and comedians, Dump Trump IV: The Agony goes down on Saturday, July 6 at 8 p.m., taking over the whole Southgate House Revival (111 E. Sixth St., Newport, southgatehouse.com).

Thacker hosted the first Dump Trump event in July of 2016; last year he said he’d organize the shows “every summer until Trump is gone,” meaning, at best, this will be the final year and, at the very worst, there will be five more (unless Trump shackles himself to his desk in the Oval Office).

Scheduled to play on the Fake News Stage: ForestFox; Wonky Tonk; Lockjaw; Slutbomb; Lashes, Terror at Midnight; and Willow Street Carolers. On the Mar-a-Lago Stage, Sovereign Being, The Whiskey Shambles, Trash Knight, Lazy Ass Destroyer and Ampline will perform, with a surprise guest band closing things out.

Justin Schafer, Glenn Childress, Erica Russell, Ryan Riker will be handling the comedy portion of the event.

Proceeds from this year’s Dump Trump fest will again go to Proclaim Justice, an organization that works to get people wrongly convicted of crimes out of prison; the Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines serves on the org’s board and her band has raised awareness for the cause on tour.

One would think that Proclaim Justice's mission would be universally supported — who wants innocent people jailed? — but this is 2019 and the President of the United States still believes in the guilt of the five men wrongfully convicted of assaulting a woman in New York in 1989 (aka the Central Park Five), despite there being DNA evidence that proved their innocence and freed them from prison.

The Facebook event page for this year’s Dump Trump declares that once again there will be free Cheetos for attendees (while supplies last).

Tickets for Dump Trump IV are just $5 in advance through ticketweb.com or $10 at the door on the night of the show.
