This morning the Taft Theatre announced that Academy Award-winning singer/songwriter Glen Hansard has canceled his performance at the venue tonight (Sept. 9).

The Taft released the following statement from Hansard's "team":

We are sorry to announce that we have to cancel tonight’s show in Cincinnati due to illness. This is something we hoped to avoid as we know how much time and energy goes into making a show happen. We would like to thank all of folks who planned on coming for their understanding. Again we apologize for this inconvenience and look forward to returning to The Taft soon.

Hansard talked about the cancelation on Instagram yesterday, saying he'd come down with the flu, which has caused him to lose his voice.

Those who bought tickets to tonight's show can get refunds at the point of purchase.
