Actors with Cincinnati Ties to Marry

And now this from the CityBeat entertainment gossip desk: A couple of actors with Cincinnati ties announced marriage engagements today.—-

Natalie Portman, whose mother is from Cincinnati and whose grandmother supposedly still lives here, is pregnant with and will marry her Black Swan co-star/on-set ballet coach Benjamin Milliped. That means Portman should be about four months along when she accepts the Oscar for best actress.

No doubt men the world over are depressed, especially those who've been smitten with her since the late Ted Demme's Beautiful Girls (which also featured a killer Afghan Whigs cameo), in which she played an irresistible underage seductress who was wise and funny beyond her years.

Then there's Independence, Ky., native/St. Xavier High School grad Joey Kern, an NYU-trained actor best known for his central role in Eli Roth's Cabin Fever, who announced he is to marry longtime girlfriend Gennifer Goodwin (pictured with Kern above), an actress who has appeared in both television (Big Love) and film (He's Just Not That into You) roles that often deal with the messiness of relationships. You'd think she'd know better.

No word as yet on whether this means that George Clooney will finally marry again — the area native hasn't retied the knot since divorcing Talia Balsam in 1993.
