Head over to Park + Vine to discover how bacteria and yeast can be tasty with the Make Your Own Kombucha class. Kombucha is a fermented effervescent tea that uses a mushroom-like culture to produce a popular drink many believe holds healing and medicinal properties. The SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) serves as the kombucha filter, soaking up the sugar from the tea and replacing it with B vitamins, amino and organic acids, enzymes and probiotics; basically, lots of healthy goodness. Erica Esham of A.N.A.O. hummus has been brewing her own kombucha for almost six years and will demonstrate the process. Each class attendee will get a small piece of SCOBY to begin the home-brewing process right away. Grab a glass jar with a lid and RSVP at parkandvine.com. If you don’t have a glass jar, no worries, you can buy one when you get to Park + Vine. 6 p.m.; class is $10. 1202 Main St., Over-the-Rhine, 513-721-7275, parkandvine.com.
