The historic Imperial Theatre, located in the recently declared Mohawk Place Historic District of McMicken Avenue, was built in 1913 as a community theater. During the 1960s, it transformed into a sort of porn house that screened adult movies and eventually staged live burlesque shows. The theater has recently been purchased and is in the early stages of renovation to return it to a “stage for all reasons,” and you can help. On Saturday, they’re hosting a community cleanup event, where you can explore the theater while helping clean it. All participants must sign a waiver before taking part, and trash bags, paper masks and gloves will be provided.

9 a.m. Saturday. Free. 280 W. McMicken Ave., West End, facebook.com/imperialtheater.
