Photography is a type of art that even the most non-artistic person can get into. Everyone likes to remember a fun event or a beautiful scene, and The Taft Museum of Art (316 Pike St., Downtown) wants to help. The museum will be hosting Picture It: A Festival of Photography. Everyone is welcome — from people who want to improve their photography skills to experts, guests from children to adults are bound to learn something about photography and have a good time. The festival will feature photography from historic daguerreotypes (an old-school process where a photograph is developed with iodine) to digital media.

Come expecting demonstrations, a photo-op scavenger hunt, hands-on activities, food and performances. On hand will be a professional photographer giving tips on improving photo techniques, as well as a 19th-century Cincinnati daguerreotypist. Guests can even have a daguerreotype-style photograph taken of them. Don’t forget to bring a camera to capture the fun! The event is free and open to the public.
