Rabbit Hash, Ky., — the small town 35 south of Cincy that elects dogs as mayors and is named for the rumored use of the local rabbit population as food — holds its first-ever wine festival this weekend. Sponsored by Elk Creek Vineyard, the town will be filled with booths from various wineries featuring plenty of vino for you to tasting pleasure. For $10 you receive a wine glass and four tickets worth one taste of wine. If you have an exceptional appetite for wine, additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each or $5 for six. There will be a large tent set up in case Mother Nature decides not to cooperate with the wine gods, so don’t let the threat of April showers keep you away from having a grand time. Tasters can also enjoy live music and lip-smackin’ food from Rabbit Hash’s own Scalded Hog.

The festival will be held noon-6 p.m. Saturday at Rabbit Hash Historical Society and General Store (11646 Lower River Road).
