Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music brings you Tchaikovsky, all the way from Russia, with love. To celebrate on of the most famous composers of the late Romantic period, CCM is hosting a Tchaikovsky Festival. The festival kicks off with Curtain Rising, the opening concert, on Oct. 14.

This concert will feature the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra along with the winner of the CCM Piano Concerto Competition and it will also serve as a welcoming party for CCM's new dean, Douglas Knehans. The program consists of Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23; Romeo and Juliet, Overture-Fantasy and 1812 Overture.

The Tchaikovsky celebrations continue through Nov. 5 with full-scale orchestral concerts, an intimate chamber music event and a special conducting workshop, all heralding the greatness of this master composer.

Cocktails and dinner with the dean start at 5:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Get details, buy tickets and find nearby bars and restaurants here.
