New Music From The Lions Rampant

Local rockers The Lions Rampant have announced the forthcoming release of their latest 7-inch single titled Going Native. The band is releasing the 3-song vinyl effort on April 29 in conjunction with a show at downtown Rock club Mainstay in honor of the bar’s second anniversary. But for those who can’t wait until then, the Lions are leaking previews online. Below you can listen to lead-off track, “Youth.”—- (Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more leaks leading up to the show.)

The 7-inch vinyl release is the trio’s third, each recorded by a different favorite producer. Going Native was recorded with Brian Niesz of local Ultrasuede studios; Niesz also worked on the band’s second EP. The package design is especially groovy — red vinyl with “interactive” eyeball artwork — but the songs are even cooler, showing the expansion and progression of the Lions’ sound.

For the April 29 release show celebrating Mainstay’s second anniversary, the group is giving away free copies of Going Native to the first 100 people through the door. Excellent, like-minded local Rock bands Oso Bear and The Kickaways will also perform.
