Midnight in Munich

Celebrate a family-friendly New Year with Midnight in Munich at Mecklenburg Gardens. The restaurant kicks the party off at 5 p.m. with appetizers and a showing of the film Dinner for One, an 18-minute black-and-white comedy that plays on German TV every New Year’s Eve. At 6 p.m., it’s midnight in Munich, one of Cincinnati’s sister cities, and time to ring in 2015 a little early with a giant pretzel and champagne toast. After some accordion music, visit the dinner buffet, featuring German roasted pig, plus glühwein. There will also be traditional Bleigießen, or lead pouring, which uses molten lead to predict what the coming year will be like.

5 p.m. Wednesday. $50 adults; $25 children. 320 E. University Ave., Corryville, mecklenburgs.net.
