A unique concept that allows people a place to gather, create and connect is expanding in College Hill.
Zonieke Alston-Betts started her shop, Pour Candle Co., as Pour Mobile Wine Bar in 2021. She joined the entrepreneurial OurShop program in College Hill almost a year ago where she expanded the concept to include make-your-own candles, with a selection of wine scents to choose from. Now, she’s expanding the business and opening her first brick-and-mortar store in the College Hill Business District.
The elevated Pour Candle Co. will combine both concepts, offering a blend of retail and bartending in one space. Guests will be able to create custom candles or craft cocktails or choose from a curated menu of wines and cocktails.
"I'm thrilled to provide a space where people can authentically be themselves, share experiences, and connect with one another. Pour Candle Co. is more than just a business; it's a place where memories are made, and friendships are forged,” Alston-Betts said in a press release.
Alston-Betts says she sees Pour Candle Co. as a hub for collaboration that can amplify Cincinnati’s entrepreneurial spirit and help guests experience the city’s vibrant culture by welcoming other local businesses, artists and creators to curate unique experiences.

Pour Candle Co. will be located at 5852 Hamilton Ave. The space will undergo construction this month, with the goal of opening sometime in May or June.
