Cincinnati got a thrill when the current tiger finally met a legendary one.
During practice at Paul Brown Stadium on June 6, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, wholesome dude and fashion icon Joe Burrow was beside himself when he got to know Ken Anderson, one of his position predecessors who deserves a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton.
The Bengals posted a photo of Burrow and Anderson shaking hands, saying, "We might pass out from all the 'awesome' in this photo."

Naturally, Cincinnati fans were delighted by seeing the pair get together, calling them the "greatest of all time" and "legends" on Twitter.Finally got to meet Joe Burrow after OTA practice today. Just as classy as I expected.

Burrow is the NFL's reigning Comeback Player of the Year, famously roaring back during the 2021 season after being sidelined in 2020 with a torn ACL. During the regular 2021-2022 season, the second-year quarterback threw 366 passes for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns. Burrow set several team records, including the most passing yards in a game, passing yards in a season and passing touchdowns in a season.
Burrow was one of several Bengals players who led the team to Super Bowl LVI in February. Cincinnati fell 20-23 to the Los Angeles Rams in the Bengals' first shot at the Vince Lombardi trophy since 1989, but the almost-Cinderella story sparked admiration throughout the city. The team earned a 10-7 regular-season record, won the AFC North, and pulled out magical win after magical win in the post-season — including the AFC Championship. Shortly after the Super Bowl, the Bengals extended head coach Zac Taylor's contract through 2026, and bookies gave the Bengals higher odds for the 2022-2023 season.
Meanwhile, Anderson – who played for the Bengals for his entire 16-season career – has some honors of his own. In 1981, he led the team to its first Super Bowl berth and was crowned the Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. He's one of just five players to have earned four passing titles and is one of the most egregious snubs from the Hall of Fame (Anderson has been nominated as well as a finalist multiple times). He was one of the inaugural members of the Bengals' Ring of Honor in 2021.
The Bengals' 2022-2023 regular-season kicks off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 11 at Paul Brown Stadium.
