Trevor Noah, aka the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, will make a stop at Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center next February as part of his Loud & Clear tour through North America, launching Jan. 11 in Toronto, Ontario.

The tour will land in 28 cities, including Tampa, Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh and more. The host’s schtick — following The Daily Show’s OG host, Jon Stewart — is sarcastic, satirical takes on day-to-day political happenings and current events.

Noah was born in South Africa at the end of the apartheid, or institutionalized racial segregation. His father was white and his mother black, making their relationship illegal when he was born; his mother was jailed as a result. In 1985, when Noah was 1-year-old, interracial relations were made legal — but stigma remains. Through his comedy he often lends keen insights on social issues, while blending his own personal experiences.

The host also authored Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood in 2016 and has several stand-up specials, the most recent being 2017’s Afraid of the Dark, which was released on Netflix.

He comes to Cincy on Feb.1, 2019. Tickets will go live at 10 a.m. Oct. 19 and can be bought at cincinnatiarts.org. You can also call 513-621-ARTS or buy them in-person at Aronoff’s box office.
