Hamilton's Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum has officially reopened to the public.
The outdoor art park is renowned for its collection of more than 80 gigantic sculptural works placed within a landscape of hills, lakes, meadows and hiking trails, according to their website.
“While the world is facing a new reality, we are incredibly excited to open back up to the public as a location for safe, outdoor recreation,” said Sean FitzGibbons, executive director of Pyramid Hill, in a release. “We have implemented measures to comply with COVID-19 regulations and with over 300 acres of land, there is plenty of space to distance, explore and enjoy art in nature.”
While the Ancient Sculpture Museum remains closed, the restrooms at the Grand Pavilion and Visitor Center are open. But Pyramid Hill does ask that guests remember to social distance, refrain from touching sculptures, only visit with members of your same household and do not come to the park if you're sick.
The park is also currently displaying a new jury-selected exhibit with the Mid-South Sculpture Alliance.
The outdoor display features nine abstract and representational public art pieces, which will be on view through November 2021.
“Putting this outdoor sculpture exhibit together alongside the MSA was a lot of fun,” said FitzGibbons. “We had more than 60 sculptures submitted from MSA members, the art committee faced a difficult task, curating that list down to the nine that are on display at the park. My favorite part of this project was engaging sculptors from all over the country and bringing them to the Hamilton/Cincinnati area.”
General Admission for the park is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum is located at 1763 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Hamilton. More info and tickets: pyramidhill.org.
