A new festival celebrating burlesque is launching in Over-the-Rhine this month.
The inaugural Queen of the West Burlesque Festival is a local, community-driven festival that will celebrate burlesque, as well as movement and expression. It’s happening Friday and Saturday, March 29-30 at Oddfellows Liquor Bar and Memorial Hall.
The festival will feature a house party, three workshops and a talent-filled show. The house party at Oddfellows Friday evening will kick things off. Admission is $15 and will include a pop-up show and contests to get the vibe going for Saturday. On Saturday, guests can take part in the workshops — including Rockin with RUDE at 11 a.m., Boa Work with Madame Mira at 1 p.m. and Willow’s Liquid Motion Sensual Floorwork at 3 p.m. — at Memorial Hall. Each workshop is $25, or you can do two for $45 or all three for $60.
Queen of the West then wraps up with the talent-filled show at Memorial Hall, featuring some of Cincinnati’s finest burlesque performers. Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets run between $24-$64.
