Michael Moore might find it ironic that another Midwestern documentarian named Michael (in this case Michael Wilson) decided to tilt at windmills a bit in a quixotic quest to interview a famously successful man who had earned his fortune on the backs of others. Moore might even feel a sense of camaraderie with Wilson, a willingness to mentor him, to encourage him to stick with it even when his subject throws up roadblocks or simply refuses to take his calls. Well, that's not going to happen because Wilson has dared to train his single-minded attention on Michael Moore, the man he believes hasn't quite been as truthful as he could have been with the American people. From his not-so-humble beginnings (not exactly in Flint, Mich., as believed) to the open-a-bank-account-get-a-rifle anecdote that became the basis of a rather skewed position on guns in America, Wilson questions Moore's real feelings about the U.S. and wants to put his queries to Moore in person. But Moore, like former General Motors CEO Roger Smith, is one evasive guy. In the end, Wilson engages in his own morally compromised tactics that would likely make Moore proud in any other circumstance. (tt stern-enzi) Grade: B+
