Traditional Greek dancing at Panegryi

After canceling 2020's event and moving to a drive-thru model in 2021, Panegyri is back with a full-scale, Opa!-inducing event this June.

From June 24-26, the Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Finneytown is hosting its annual celebration of Greek culture, complete with exhibits, cooking demos, live music and lots and lots of folk dancing.

And food. Can't forget the food.

The full list of favorite eats is back this year.

Outside, enjoy:

  • Traditional Greek dinners with your choice of Greek chicken, moussaka or pastitsio (macaroni and cheese with ground beef and bechamel) with rice, green beans, Greek salad and bread
  • Tiropita
  • Spanakopita
  • Gyros
  • Greek pizza
  • Souvlaki
  • Skyline chili
  • Yia Yia's Mezethakia aka appetizers featuring Greek meatballs, dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves), feta cheese, olives and saganaki (flaming cheese)
  • Baklava sundaes
  • Loukoumathes
Get in line in the main hall to take home a box of baklava, kataifi, kourambiethes and melomakarona handmade by church patrons. Or post up at the Kafenion for some Greek-style coffee.

And don’t skip the taverna, with Greek wine by the glass and bottle and Greek beer.

Panegyri has been voted as Cincinnati's favorite summer church festival by CityBeat readers in the Best Of Cincinnati issue for a reason — it's very, very fun.

5-11 p.m. June 24, 3-11 p.m. June 25 and 1-8 p.m. June 26. $3; free 12 and under. Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 7000 Winton Road, Finneytown, panegyri.com.
