The first cover story was about OTR and we haven't stopped talking about it since...

For our 25th anniversary, we here at CityBeat decided to start digitizing our archive. Which means one of us has to take the elevator down to the creepy basement and dig through cardboard boxes of papers to find our first issues from the 1990s — CityBeat's first issue printed Nov. 17, 1994 — and then scan them and resize them and stick all the images into a big PDF. (Is there an easier way to do this??)

So far, we've gotten through the first issue and no one has been bit by a basement spider (yet). It's a real thrill to join the 21st century (and will be a real thrill for our interns when their new job is "scanning").

If you want to see how much or how little has changed in Cincinnati since 1994, read the paper here

And, yes, some spreads are a little janky but that's the best we're all going to get unless someone gets us a bigger scanner and more free time.
