Although the Aladdin’s Eatery chain has been around since 1994, their new location in OTR marks something novel and adventurous for the Lebanese-American franchise: a full bar. Now, you can not only grab a freshly squeezed juice, smoothie or freshly brewed mint tea, you can also opt for a drink from a clever selection of cocktails.
Housed in the space on the corner of Main and 12th streets that once held Mixx Ultra Lounge, Aladdin's boasts the same food menu as other locations, but with the addition of a large patio and outdoor bar, plus industrial-modern-meets-Lebanese decor. This location is also open late-night, with hours until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
“This is where everything is happening and this location allows us the option to have lots of fun," says Leslie Hacker, the assistant general manager for the OTR location. "We have an event planned with EFFIN Vodka coming up. We have a lot of possibilities for the future and we may even might have some live music in the works.”
Find food favorites like rolled pita sandwiches, shish kabob plates, kibbie, beef kafta and other Mediterranean flavors, plus cocktails like the Baklava Martini (bourbon, salted pistachio, honey syrup, Disaronno and cream) or the Beirut Mule (bourbon, fresh mint, dried ginger, simple syrup, ginger beer and Arak). If you want a classic, they also serve traditional anise-flavored Arak with water and ice.
Aladdin’s has become a staple all over Ohio, beginning with its first location in Lakewood. That original location was opened by the chain's founders, Fady and Sally Chamoun, both Lebanese immigrants who had a dream to share their cuisine with America. Their passion for food led to them to begin serving Lebanese staples, but also play around with different fares, allowing them to offer a wide variety of vegetation, vegan and gluten-free dishes in addition to traditional meat-centric menu items.
Aladdin's Eatery + Lounge is located at 1203 Main St., Over-the-Rhine. More info: facebook.com/aladdinseateryOTR.
