No. 4: Cielito Lindo
3256 Dixie Highway, Fairfield
“Low key, extremely authentic Mexican fare on weekends only (S&S from 11-4) as an all-you-can-eat buffet, $12 per person. Located in the old Capri Motel restaurant, don't expect fancy digs, but unpretentious fresh fare like you would eat at home in Mexico. This is not Tex-Mex but the real thing. Too many items to list or show. Come hungry!” -Sue L.

No. 3: El Barril Mexican Sports Bar & Grill
940 Pavilion St., Mt. Adams
“This is just a cool place to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a drink. I loved the fun casual vibe. I felt like we were on vacation. I'm really glad we decided to drop in. The staff is so so nice! The food was good. I highly recommend the bang bang tacos. So delicious and unique! I tried the CANTARITOS drink. I've never had anything like it. It's a tequila-based Mexican drink made with orange, lemon, and lime juice and grapefruit soda. The presentation is adorable. Same for the Paloma! I was surprised by the cute way they decorate the drinks. My husband and I really liked it there and will be back!” -Amanda G.

No. 2: Mazunte Taqueria
5207 Madison Road, Madisonville
“The beer battered tacos are my favorite, and I've had fish tacos both in Mexico and South America. Theirs are the best—the dinners are authentic ranchero Mexican and not swimming in cheese sauce as most entrees are served in our Americanized Tex Mex restaurants. It's a wonderful little eatery with outdoor seating for two or ten or more.” -Mary M.

No. 1: Veracruz
3108 Price Ave., East Price Hill
“5 for food, service and ambiance! We came for breakfast (8 a.m.-2 p.m. weekends) Aug 20 and had wonderfully delicious Veggie Omelettes beautifully prepared, with potatoes and toast on the side...generous portion all around. The accompanying jalapeño and tomato-chili sauces were a great sidekick! We had coffee with the baked goods we bought from their attached panadería! The Mexican Cheesecake and Creme Croissant were fabulous! Our waiter Armando was attentive and helpful. We will definitely come back for brunch again!” -Christina T.
