An “extreme-value” grocery retailer is opening its first Greater Cincinnati location this summer. Grocery Outlet Bargain Market will expand to Eastgate, opening at 650 Eastgate South Drive on June 20.

Grocery Outlet says this expansion will help make high-quality and affordable groceries more accessible to more people throughout the Midwest. It’ll also bring over 30 new jobs to the area.

“We are so thrilled to be a part of the Cincinnati community allowing us to provide our neighbors with significant savings on quality groceries,” Matt Alicea – who will be the independent operator of the Eastgate Grocery Outlet along with his wife, Shannon Alicea — said in a press release. “This partnership with Grocery Outlet has given us the ability to grow our business, create new jobs and more importantly, give back to our local community."

Grocery Outlet stores are independently operated by local families and offer the same trusted brands as traditional grocery stores, but at lower prices by using buyers who scour the country to find manufacturers with extra inventory and seasonal closeouts.

Ahead of its grand opening, the Eastgate Grocery Outlet is offering its customers a chance to win $1,000 worth of free groceries. The online contest will open on June 10 and run until July 18 at groceryoutlet.com. Matt says he will also donate $1,000 to Lightshine Community Center in honor of the grand opening.

In addition to the contest, the first 100 customers ages 18 and older at Grocery Outlet’s grand opening will also receive Grocery Outlet Bliss Buck gift cards in mystery amounts ranging from $5 to $500. All customers will receive a reusable bag while supplies last.

Once open, Grocery Outlet’s hours will be Monday through Saturday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can follow the Eastgate store on their Facebook page.
