Brown Bear Bakery in Over-the-Rhine is known for crafting delicious and creatively flavored baked goods. Recent menu items have included options like a pumpkin pie croissant; rosemary, persimmon and granola shortbread; and matcha, chocolate and mint snickerdoodles, alongside favorites like the salty chocolate chip cookie.
But one recent invention grabbed our eye: Chris’s Green Bean Casserole Croissant. The flaky pastry is described as containing "all of the nostalgia snuggled inside a spelt croissant and finished with salty crispy fried onions."
On their Facebook page, the bakery says the treat will be available until Dec. 24.
But let's hope they extend the run. Green bean casserole is Ohio's favorite holiday side dish, according to a recent report. Zippia analyzed Google searches from November 2020 in order to decipher what states favored which sides. Ohio's top-searched side was green beans.
