National Chili Dog Day is July 29, and if you're ready to stuff your face with some Cincinnati-style coneys, Gold Star has a deal for you.
On Thursday, July 29, you can get one free cheese coney with the purchase of any regular Pepsi product at any of Gold Star's 70 Greater Cincinnati restaurants. The deal applies to dine-in, carry-out or drive-thru orders.
“National Chili Dog Day is a perfect time to rediscover why the cheese coney is a Cincinnati favorite and our No. 1 seller with more than 7.8 million sold per year,” says Roger David, president and CEO of Gold Star, in a release.
Gold Star's cheese coney features a hot dog nestled in a steamed bun, topped with Gold Star's Cincinnati-style chili, mustard, onions and Wisconsin cheddar.
The press release from the company says that the 7.8 million coneys sold per year — based on their average size — would span 2.6 million feet, or 3,920 Great American Towers.
That's a lot of chili. And cheese. And hot dogs.
