A new place to grab a beer and turn your friends into enemies with an intense game of Monopoly is coming to College Hill.

Free Parking is a new board game bar setting up shop in the College Hill Business District along Hamilton Avenue. The bar plans to open this summer.

Owner, manager and Cincinnati local Matt Wright says Free Parking aims to create a welcoming space where visitors can relax, socialize, enjoy some bar food and drinks and play from an extensive collection of board games.

"The name 'Free Parking' stems from the like-named space on the Monopoly board, where nothing is expected except enjoyment," Wright said in a press release. "My goal is to create a space where the only expectation for our guests is to enjoy their stay. With a full bar, a menu featuring classic bar fare, and an open library of board games, Free Parking promises to be a hotspot for entertainment and community building in College Hill."

Wright says his background in food service and entertainment venues has made him passionate about creating a sense of fun and camaraderie in the community.

"We're thrilled to welcome Free Parking to College Hill, which promises to bring people together in new and engaging ways, further enriching the fabric of our community," Kate Greene, CEO of College Hill CURC, said in the release. "We're excited to see this innovative concept contribute to our business district’s vibrancy and offer residents and visitors alike a unique venue for entertainment and connection."

Free Parking will open at 6200 Hamilton Ave. in the HaNoBe building. Wright will announce business hours when it gets closer to the opening date.
