Alive & Well, 3410 Telford St., Clifton

A new bar promising to ignite the senses and offer an unrivaled experience is coming to Clifton’s Gaslight District.

Cocktail bar Alive & Well, located at 3410 Telford St., will host its soft opening Saturday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 6. Hickory Wald Hospitality Group, which also operates Rhinehaus, The Hannaford at Pike & Madison, The Fill Inn and Nation Kitchen & Bar restaurants, is behind the spirit-forward establishment.

Andrew Salzbrun with Hickory Wald says Alive & Well will provide an “out of the norm” Ludlow experience, blending the grandeur of the building’s historic Art Deco façade with a punk-rock ambiance.

“I’ve been in love with this building since the fifth grade. During my grade school education at Annunciation, we’d walk up to Ludlow after class to get doughnuts from Graeter’s and skateboard on Telford Street before catching the #17 bus home. The building has a storied history in my heart, as does the legacy of the Gaslight District. We’re proud to be stewards of its legacy and its next chapter,” Salzbrun said in the release.

Alive & Well’s drink menu will feature a curated selection of top-quality spirits, as well as cocktails and wines. Salzbrun says the bar is also partnering with other neighborhood establishments, like Two Seven Two Bakery, Graeter's, Silverglades and Al's Delicious Popcorn to offer a snack menu.

The audio experience at Alive & Well will also be curated as part of a collaboration with Ludlow Avenue’s Torn Light Records.
