The Queen City will soon have a new option for health-conscious grocery shoppers. On Aug. 29, Whole Foods Market is opening its third Cincinnati location at 5901 E. Galbraith Road in Kenwood.
According to a press release from the company, the 38,000-square-foot space will offer locally sourced options, grab-and-go prepared foods and both organic and natural grocery items. Customers can expect fresh produce with select items sourced from regional growers, a bakery, a full-service butcher department, a seafood department, over 200 cheeses, a self-serve prepared food bar with both vegan and organic options, bulk section, a wide variety of wines and beers, as well as "hundreds of products from local suppliers, four of which are recipients of Whole Foods Market’s Local Producer Loan Program, which provides low-interest loans to local producers to help grow their businesses."
The grand opening celebration begins at 9 a.m. Aug. 29 and will feature complimentary brew from Deeper Roots Coffee, as well as pastries and music prior to the store opening. Head down early to snag some swag — the first 200 visitors will receive a special reusable tote plus a mystery savings card with values ranging between $5 and $100.
“We can’t wait for the Kenwood community to experience their new Whole Foods Market,” says store team leader Eric Knapke in a press release. “We look forward to providing our customers with high-quality food and service and an extensive selection of items that are unique to this area.”
On Sept. 5, the store plans to give back to its new community by donating 5 percent of its net sales to nonprofit Madeira Schools Foundation, an organization "dedicated to improving the local school system by providing students with unique opportunities and experiences to enhance their education."
Following the stores grand opening, Whole Foods Market Kenwood will be open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.
