After several years nestled in the cozy confines of small-town Friendship, Indiana, this August’s edition of the popular Whispering Beard Folk Festival will take place on Cincinnati’s riverfront at Smale Riverfront Park. The event's lineup will feature national acts like M. Ward, Ryan Bingham, Peter Rowan and The Felice Brothers, as well as local faves like The Tillers, Frontier Folk Nebraska and many others.

This Saturday, June 29 there will be a special preview of the Americana fest at Fretboard Brewing (5800 Creek Road, Blue Ash, fretboardbrewing.com). The free, 8 p.m. show features Cincinnati Folk singer/songwriter Ben Turner, Northern Kentucky fave Maria Carrelli and The Harmed Brothers, who formed in Oregon but now call Cincinnati home.

Fretboard and Whispering Beard are giving away a pair of three-day passes to the Aug. 22-24 fest via Instagram; follow @fretboardbrewing and @whispering_beard for a chance to win.
