Street signs thought Cheviot now have new colors and names.

Many street signs throughout downtown Cheviot now have new colors and new names.

Those colors, of course, are black and orange, and the names are Bengals-themed in preparation for when the team takes on the Los Angeles Rams during Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, Feb. 13.

The streets — all of which line Cheviot's D.O.R.A. district — now don names including Tee Higgins Drive, Joe Burrow Way, Paul Brown Place, McPherson Avenue and Joe Mixon Way. These signs are set to be up for all of February, per a Facebook page.

Troy Dean Borgmann, owner of Fogarty's Irish Pub in Cheviot, said it was his idea to change the signs. He wrote on his Facebook page that the inspiration came from his childhood “driving down Montana Avenue and seeing Esiason on every street sign...... because the Cincinnati Bengals were on their way to the Super Bowl to play Joe Montana from the 49'ers.”

Borgmann says he contacted Cheviot Mayor Sam Keller, who helped make it happen.

This change comes along with a Super Bowl pub crawl throughout Cheviot on Friday, Feb. 11 to kick off the beginning of Super Bowl weekend. Participating bars will have T-shirts, drinks and lots of Cincinnati pride. The list of participating bars has not been announced.

Similarly, Dayton, Kentucky has been renamed Who Deyton to honor the Bengals march to the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Rams' home of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. NBC will broadcast the game, and fans also can watch on Peacock, Telemundo, NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.
