HEALTH SERVICES

AIDS Volunteers of Northern Kentucky: Offers support and community for people living with HIV. Monthly dinners provide social contact with other HIV-positive individuals. 513-483-5757, www.avnk.com.

Caracole: Provides affordable housing and supportive services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Their SOPHIA program coordinates the Homeless Management Information System. 513-761-1480, www.caracole.org.

Stop AIDS (formerly AVOC): Provides individual support services, offers prevention education and provides housing assistance to homeless individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Cincinnati. YOUTH SERVICES

Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network of Cincinnati: GLSEN is the leading national organization fighting to end anti-gay bias in K-12 schools. GLSEN maintains a lending library with resources useful to queer youth as they navigate personal relationships, discrimination and self-individuation. 859-628-2732, www.glsencincinnati.org.

PFLAG: Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of Greater Cincinnati provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and identity. Meets 7-9:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month. Cincinnati Frontrunners/Frontwalkers: LGBT runners and walkers meet three times a week to share time together and work for physical fitness. 513-591-1132, www.frontrunners.org.

CommonGround: The Gay/Straight Alliance at Northern Kentucky University exists to provide a safe, understanding, fun and welcoming place for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning and straight ally students, faculty and staff. studenthome.nku.edu/~commonground.

Alternating Currents: Cheryl Eagleson produces Cincinnati’s gay and lesbian public affairs radio show. Saturdays from 3-5 p.m. on the low-power station WVQC 95.7 FM. www.alternatingcurrents.org.
