Showcasing many of the leading lights of the modern Americana movement, the Ohio River Throwdown returns this year for its second annual event. Playing on three stages at Riverbend Music Center, the festival’s organizers have once again compiled an excellent lineup that spotlights artists who have taken the blueprints of a variety of Roots music styles and put their own distinctive spin on them.

This year, catch Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros,
Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Jason Isbell,
Trampled By Turtles, Trombone Shortly & Orleans Avenue,
Lucero, The Secret Sisters, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Johnnyswim, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds,
American Aquarium and The No BS! Brass Band. Along with great music, from noon-1:30 p.m., the Ohio River Throwdown will also offer free craft beer, bourbon, wine and moonshine tastings, as well as a free cookout and barbecue sampling. (Music begins at 12:30 p.m.)

Noon. Saturday. $58-$78. Riverbend Music Center, 6295 Kellogg Ave., Anderson, riverbend.org.
